Additional free space up to 4.5GB at Dropbox.
Keep plugging in those cameras!HTML Code:http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=52900
During this beta period, we are also offering additional free space to test automatic uploading of photos and videos. For every 500MB of photos and videos automatically uploaded, you'll receive another 500MB space bonus, up to 4.5GB total. [Update: To clarify, you can get up to 5GB of free space with this feature, if you count the initial 500MB space for the first photo import].

I used my chip from the camera and from the phone. I did not have enough, so I shut down the Dropbox software. All I did was put more pictures and videos on the memory chip..pull her out and plug her back into my computer. Than a pop up comes up, and u will know what to do.

So you have to upload 500MB of photos for 500MB of space? That would take me forever on my crappy upload lol.
I did get the 500MB for the first photo though.
Now that i think about it...I don't even have 2GB of photos I could upload anyways.

I must not be doing it right - I put some pics on a usb drive - plugged it in, and the autoplay window popped up - I directed it to transfer the pics to the dropbox folder on my computer - it uploaded the pics, but my storage limit didn't increase on dropbox - what did I miss?

First pic - no matter the size = 500MB free upgrade
Next 500MB upgrade comes when you upload 500MB worth of pictures and/or videos from camera/USB device.

Actually you don't need to. Just open up the property sheet for the drive you want to use then manually select Autoplay. This way Autoplay stays disabled by default so it's not a potential vector for viruses.
Some additional comments/hints:
• as others have said you can use a few large video files as well as photos to reach your 4.5GB quota
• at typical DSL/cable speeds it could take a day or more to upload 4.5GB to Dropbox so be patient
• you can monitor the progress of your credits using https://www.dropbox.com/account
• once you've got the files uploaded and received your 4.5GB credit you can delete the files to recover the space for other uses
• if you use DropBox to synch multiple PCs, be sure to pause synching on them so as not to download the 4.5GB that you're uploading_______________
