I got mine here (note it is the Advanced version with a more supported processor and better screen than the basic, although the basic has Honeycomb now): http://www.merimobiles.com/Ainol_NOV...p/meri0723.htm
Discussions on the tablet can be found:
http://www.mp4nation.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=4
http://www.slatedroid.com/forum/258-...vo-7-advanced/
Pros:
- cheap!
- Ainol is as reputable a brand as you will get with chinese tablets
- can be rooted, firmwares are available to upgrade it, see slatedroid
- plays 1080p mkv no problem
- hdmi out
- processor comes at 1ghz and plays everything well
- expandable via microsd
- good viewing angle
- amazing battery life
- supports certain usb 3g dongles
Cons:
- older revisions have weak wifi - you need to confirm with the seller if it is a new or old revision, and even then they may not know. You can manually mod/replace the antenna, but it is best to hope for a new revision. If new firmware fixes this, I will update the post. Currently it is still an issue with 1.7x firmware
- no bluetooth
- screen resolution 800x480
- currently unable to access all market offerings even after modifying build.prop - see slatedroid for info
- tilt sensor/gyrometer do not seem to properly determine the direction the tablet is held in for gaming/apps. Ie. the asus transformer ice cube wallpaper malfunctions as it thinks it is sideways. The screen does, however, properly change when the tablet is tilted
- weird vibration noise
- not easy to find cases that fit this specifically, although dimensions are similar to Galaxy Tab 7 - discussion on slatedroidLast edited by Avenger; Nov 15th, 2011 at 03:29 PM.

now, something like this is what's required to take on apple. How long has it taken a knockoff to finally figure it out. Provide a good product at a great price. People buy apple, imho, because (they're drones) and because you know you will get a quality product. But you pay for it. Brother, do you pay.
I'm not talking about competing with an Ipad, but an Ipod touch. This thing looks like it's a hands down winner compared to the touch. Yes, size is dramatically different, but if I see all these kids with games, surfing and texting, it looks like the touch isn't used so much as a music player. Seems like a great product.
Anyways, does anyone know who makes this? Is it similar in form factor to the playbook? Just trying to figure the components used.

One of the big reasons I got an iPad over all the cheap alternate tablets was the battery life. Also these tablets are running unsupported versions of Android phone OS's, why no tablet OS?
