Air Bag Light on '03 Sonata

I have a 2003 Sonata 4 cyl, and all of a sudden this morning when I started the car the air bag light came on the dash and is not going away. I checked under the seat and wiggled the wires around but that did nothing. It makes no difference if someone is in the passenger seat.

Any suggestions on what to do here, or maybe someone knows something I can do to turn off/reset the fault?

Cheers

You should get an OBD scanner and read the code...very handy to have.

I bought mine at Princess Auto for around $20.

So, does this count as a "reliable" Hyundai, or is it part of the Hyundai era that RFD chooses to ignore?

Maybe the airbag fuse in the fuse box burned....Could be as simple as that

OP, just pay and find out what's wrong with it.
Tis banana is IRIE 😎

10% off is cold, 50% off is warm, 75% off is hot, but FREE IS RFD!

OBD2 scanner isn't going to read an airbag code. Those codes are stored in the BCM (not PCM), and are usually accessed by more unique scanners available to your dealer. Start with checking fuses and wiring.

What an epic fail. Brought it in to Hyundai and they tried reading the code and the machine wouldnt read it. It's not connecting to the module at all. They can read other modules fine like tranny, but not the air bag one. So they said most likely your module is toast. So great, now what?!

Once there was a real deal in front of me I did not cherish. Not until it went OOS did I learn to regret. There's no greater sorrow. If heavens would grant me another chance I would buy buy buy. If I must put down a quantity, I hope it is 10000
