way too many issues with AC to make this a deal. I wouldn't fly with them even if I can save a considerable amount.

Care to elaborate?
I'm not a big fan of AC (or Rouge) myself, but I've found one particular nonstop AC flight to the US on one particular day that is ~$120 cheaper the next cheapest flight (which is a 1-stop with DL). I'd take it regardless to this deal, but $20 back makes it sweeter.

Does this negate any travel insurance benefits (e.g., trip cancellation) that come with paying directly with a credit card?

Is it unlimited? I couldn't find anything saying whether it is or isn't.

RFD-effect it full force and book 6 one ways!
Although FYI, the USDOS issued a travel warning to Cancún, as well as to other places in Mexico.
From USDOS website:

Quintana Roo (includes Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and Tulum): U.S. citizens should be aware that according to Government of Mexico statistics, the state of Quintana Roo experienced an increase in homicide rates compared to 2016. While most of these homicides appeared to be targeted criminal organization assassinations, turf battles between criminal groups have resulted in violent crime in areas frequented by U.S. citizens. Shooting incidents, in which innocent bystanders have been injured or killed, have occurred.

Doesn't bother me,, go there every year, we stay in a secure gated community. (Puerto Aventuras) It's away from Playa and Cancun.
Just going to book it all together, I have a air canada 15% off code and i'll only be able to use it once
