[Air Canada] $250 RT, taxes included: Toronto to Cranbrook BC (hop off in YVR or YYC) Feb-June dates

Air Canada has a weird sale on right now. You can fly from Toronto to Cranbrook BC for only $250 Roundtrip taxes included (when you buy two one way tickets: $137 outbound, $113 return = $250 CDN). Select dates from February to June.

You need to book two one way fares to get this price. Since you're booking a one way fare, when flying from Toronto its possible (**if you don't check in luggage) to hop off in either Calgary or Vancouver since the flight has one layover each way in either city.

** You cannot check in luggage if you leave at your layover destination. Hidden City ticketing only works if you don't check in luggage. Carry ons are fine***

Best thing is to experiment with working dates and layovers with Google Flights:

Example:

Toronto to Cranbrook will be $137 CDN one way:

YYZ-YVR-YXC:
https://www.google.ca/flights/#search;f ... YXC0AC8217

Cranbrook to Toronto will only be $113 CDN one way:
https://www.google.ca/flights/#search;f ... RYYZ0AC126

*** Please note: you need to leave from Cranbrook airport on your way back. If you skip the 1st leg, your ticket will get cancelled***.

If you don't have a really, really good explanation and you skip a connecting flight twice, Air Canada will black list you. Google it!
Proof? I never heard of anybody getting blacklisted for skipping a leg more than once with Air Canada. I googled, and I couldn't find anything.

Here's an interesting news article from the Toronto Star on the topic:

How would you return. They won’t let you board in Vancouver on the way back.

If you're up for a golf trip. I would highly recommend cranbrook. They have amazing courses for very good deals in the area.

We usually do a guys golf trip out there once a summer from Calgary. For basic accommodations, 1 night stay and 1 round of golf is between 100-125 a night. You guys out east should definitely give it a try.

For example, check out shadow mountain course, trickle creek, st Eugene just to name a few. If you have more time. Grey wolf is about a 2 hour drive from there which is ranked 11th in Canada.

That would entail another one way ticket from Vancouver to the cranbrook.

You can't check luggage as they expect you on the next flight so your suitcase will continue on to Cranbrook without you.

I've done hidden city ticketing a couple times with both Air Canada and WestJet.

I'm not blacklisted (afaik).

Very solid deal. It's only an extra hour of driving for me to get to Cranbrook over YYC from Lake Louise so I'll be sending my family through there. They'll want to check bags so they can't skip out after the layover anyways.

That's kinda stupid that getting a extra useless layover that you don't want makes the ticket actually cheaper than without that extra layover. I mean it's cheaper for them to operate too, even if they charge the same amount for just between Toronto and Vancouver.

it's nothing new. it costs extra more to fly to taipei than to hk on eva... even though the cheaper flight to HK stops in taipei (for those who paid more for taipei to get off) before continuing to hk.

BC interior is nice but I think for now we need to boycott the whole province.
