Air Canada Trip Cancellation Insurance -- Coverage Question
Wondering if anyone has had experience with Air Canada's trip cancellation insurance, will it cover me if I book a ticket now for September and figure out in say, August, that I cannot go because of work reasons/vacation scheduling?
Which type of insurance will cover this?

Typically None....that is not a reason for coverage.

Trip cancellation covers you if Air Canada canceled your flight due to unforeseen circumstances and did not make an effort to put you on another flight. It'll also cover your cost if something incredible happened to you like if you were in an accident and severely injured and thus cannot make your flight.
If Air Canada offers you an alternate flight, as inconvenient as it may be, your trip cancellation won't cover you.

Now, keep in mind for many of the fare classes, you have a year to use your ticket...just reschedule for a time when you are able to use the ticket or the equivalent dollar value.

Lots of Credit Cards also offer trip cancellation insurance for free.
Make sure to check with your CC issuers before making a purchase to see what benefits you have.
