I assume you have a pretty small house then if you're looking at a 1.5 ton? Anything over 1300SQ feet I will almost ALWAYS go 2 ton. Will not have sizing issues with the G71 and a 2 ton if you're over 1300.
As for the Lennox rebates, when you buu a media air cleaner and a comfortsense stat with a g71 and a XC14 there is a $1030 rebate. After tomorrow that number will be $730 though.

My house is about 1250 sq ft. How do I tell if I was quoted a 2 ton or 1.5 ton A/C? And where do I find info on Lennox rebates?
Also, got a quote from Rona as well. Goodman Furnace GMV95070 + Goodman A/C SSX14 024 for $7088 tax in. I personally like what Phillips heating and cooling has to offer.

We're planning on installing Lennox ACX13 in our house, but we are wondering if we should go with XC13 instead, any recommendation? The difference in price is about $200, is it worth it? (The AC will be installed on the side of the house and we have a window on that side)
Here is what we've got from a local shop
Lennox 13ACX 030 $2985.00 + GST
Lennox XC13 030 $3210.00 + GST
Lennox XC14 030 $3410.00 + GST

For those of you who have read this entire thread you will have read that I managed to get a $1500 mfr rebate from York on my pkg purchase of an 18 SEER CAC and a 95% furnace, flow thru humidifier and media air cleaner etc. last spring.
The rebates are back for this year (and increased in some instances):

Sorry to bother you all!
I tried to read but most posts are older and prices may no longer reflect the current prices out there.
I have a 2800-2900 SQ FT home new in Markham and was approached by some co who handed out the flyer and told me i can get a 3 TON carrier (not sure the model) with cover and install for $2250 plus gst.
would anyone out there be able to recommend a brand and place to get my A/C done for the best possible price? I plan to flip my home in 1-3 yrs pending on market so it does not have to be high seer or best brand !!!
Any help would be appreciated and i want to get this done soon before the prices go up for the summer if i am not already too late!
i want to thank everyone for their help and assistance in advance!!!_______________

Personally, I'm a big fan of the XC 14. It's quieter, full steel body and offers higher efficiency. There is also a $150 rebate from Lennox so that narrows the price difference. The pricing you have there on the 2.5 ton XC14 is cheaper than mine too. MY ACX is less casue I bought like 500 of them!

Ok, I've narrowed down our choices to two units:
1. Trane XC13 2.0 ton ~ $3000
2. York Latitude 13 SEER 2.0 ton ~ $2700
Both prices includes installation (including bracket) and taxes.
The guys installing it for me said they've been carrying Trane for a very long time now. They only started to carry York and offer it as a cheaper alternative. I give the slight edge to Trane at this point. I saw the unit at a home show last month and really like the quality. However, I'm also considering the York due to its cheap price. Has anyone have any experience with York units? How reliable are they? They only come with a 5 yr. warranty as opposed to 10 yr. with the Trane.

Does anyone know contractors carrying Trane or York brands in Ottawa area?
