great price, but not uncommon for off-season. paid about $900 earlier this year in the busy season.
AC is decent, but I found Air France better.
KLM also has the same price to many cities in europe now, but I did not like their flight to AMS. felt cramped, and I am not even tall.

Air Canada is 25$ cheaper than Air France for the same promo and you have 2 luggages instead of a 50$ surcharge...

If you want to go somewhere else in Europe though, you should take Air France because Air Canada has only a promotion to Paris

Don't know what you're talking about - my Air France itinerary clearly states "Allowance : 2 baggage", included in the $586.99. There was no $50 surcharge.

AC is the same price + tax, the 588 here is with tax.

Price aside...I think the deal here is the free stopover in Paris. Usually airlines don't permit stopovers on low fares or may do for a fee.
