Lowes have Alaskan Premium Ice Melter Pail - 8 Kg on clearence for $9.30. Currently, Home Depo has it for $14.49. I was able to PM HD and get 10% of the difference for $8.37.

I Stocked up on 5 buckets before winter hits. Might go back for more. There were lots of them located in Surrey by Portello bridge.

YMMV - HD PM policy clearly excludes clearance pricing but depends on CSR you get.

Too many people ruin stonework with this stuff, consider ecotraction instead. Not as satisfying as actually getting rid of ice but it's harmless to people, plants, animals and expensive stonework.

I thought Ice Melter was at least better than salt for stonework.
Where can you get Ecotraction?

Quick search shows this product to be available at homehardware, canadiantire etc. Never tried it though reviews look to be good.
Isn't it great to live in the 21st century where deleting history has become more important than making it.

Unless you prefer the bucket, the 20kg bag is at $20 regular price and goes on sale often.

Last few years I've bought it in bulk at SDM at end of season they always seem to have it half off.

Anything that melts ice is bad for stonework with mortar joints and crevices that water can penetrate, it can refreeze, expand, and crack and/or weaken everything. I won't use ice melters anywhere outside my house.
