We're actually in the same boat and that's exactly what happened to me - I stopped watching Fringe shortly after halfway through the first season, and just resumed watching it in Season 2 when they started getting to the good stuff.
I was talking more about the casual viewers - a "monster of the week" type episode structure is geared towards them, hoping that it'll catch people who don't know much about the show, and hopefully by the time S2 starts, they've got enough loyal casual folks that they can then do the major arc..

Ever since the Good Wife, it seems like networks are stocking up on young, attractive, intelligent Indian women - it's the new trend, it seems.
As for Spielberg - is he just throwing a bunch of stuff at a wall, hoping something sticks? He needs to stick to producing shows about war... I'd love to see a remake of Tour of Duty if he's sick of WWII...

That's the impression I'm getting, at least with his TV efforts. It's like the studios figure that adding his (or Abrams') name will allow them to sell 13 episode (half season) boxsets for full price shortly after cancellation. I'm sure I'm not the only one who won't fall for that. Even SGU, with its two half-season runs, was only worth picking up when the price dropped to $10/set. If they're going to start throwing short 13 episode teasers at us, followed by cancellation, then I'm going to stop watching network TV. At least for new shows. I'd already sworn off FOX - yet here I am.

Champs for a reason. We play the FULL season. Sadly this season City got 2 minutes extra.

Meh, I get all my shows (the ones I can stomach or semi intrigues me) off usenet. I won't line their pockets with commercials and certain won't buy their box sets. There is so many shows being produced it seems like not only the production is water downed, the content and the funds to start one up is too. Soon you'll see Youtube/Vimeo shorts rivalling what these big studios put out.

My dad worked on a project at OT in their era. He got an official #2 shirt given to him. One of the classic old badgeless ones. I forget the player's name ATM. It may come to me later.
Edit: Wonder if it could have been Jimmy Nicholl? Was he #2? Apparently he was born in Canada, in Hamilton, ON.
I'm thinking Alex Forsyth though. Ironically enough, he's now managing a pub in Hamilton, Scotland.

I lost interest in this series, it's usually a criminal getting out, killing a lot of people, and getting jailed or killed. The story of each missing person from Alcatraz was the most interesting part in this series, and I wanted to watch each episode because of this. I think the main cast has bad scripts, and it's just too boring to watch now. My favourite actor in this series was the guy who acted for Jack Sylvane, and imo, he should have been the lead or played some important role in the series.
