They collect all taxes/duties/shipping in advance so you don't have to worry about brokerage fees or anything when the shipment arrives. Total shipped cost to Vancouver is $270.56 which is a very good price for this shoe.

I disagree with this. AE shoes need to be tried on. They also use different lasts for different shoes so one model may fit different than other depending on the last used.

The walnut strands are also an excellent shoe for those looking for something less formal.

Unfortunately not true, I wear 11 in running shoes, 10 in dress shoes and had to get 9.5 in Kenilworths which are the same last as PA.

Not crazy about black... but sizing is critical for these shoes so I suggest you find your actual size first (ie. try on a pair) before buying.

my AE Walnut Strands in 9.5 E were cancelled due to lack of availability. But now that I look at reviews, I see that it is one of the smaller lasts, so I probably would have needed a 9.5 EE or 9.5 EEE to make sure it isn't too narrow and can lace it up all the way properly.

Also read that Nordstrom stores in the US are having the sales in store, but quality appears to be that from the Nordstrom rack aka Seconds. Hopefully this quality doesn't hold true for the online orders, would be a hassle to send back.

For anyone considering buying AE--I have a pair of their black monk straps. It should easily last you a lifetime if you take decent care of it.
