Almost got hit by some crazy driver
I was rollerblading home and i was rollerblading on the sidewalk. I stoped at a intersection and i saw a white car with blue writing or logo on its side similar to a police vehicle but it wasn't. It stoped at the intersection like any other car and then so i crossed and when i was at the middle he made a turn into me but just missed me and he just missed me by less then a foot and sped off. I like freaked and called police non-emergency number and they told me to go to a god damn police station to report it. What the h$%$ wrong with them holly sH*t i almost got ran over by some mad driver and all they told me was you'd have to go to a police station. What if this guy is targeting pedestrians? I don't know what to say but toronto police is horrible

I feel bad for you since I've come close to getting hit a bunch of times and even got hit once while crossing at a CROSSING legally(no injuries). Basically, you gotta watch your own butt and don't assume someone has seen you unless you make eye contact.
Once when I was walking home from school and the sidewalk was flooded with water from the melting snow, I decided to walk on the street as close to the sidewalk as I could for about 10m. So this wacko with his Buick drives past me at like 0.5m away on a 2 lane street(and the 2nd lane was free) and decides to HONK at me at last second as he's passing me, scaring the crap out of me._______________

no i didn't get his license plate he sped right off and i was just traumatized by the fact that i almost got ran over. The reason that i think it was more than he didn't see me was the fact that i was in the middle of crossing when he turned and was turning into the sidewalk instead of just doing a normal turn. And when i was crossing i was in front of him

That is ruff where i live in bells corners (west ottawa)There are alot of very bad drivers.Even when the little man goes up you still have to be careful. Now with thats said no matter what crime it is you have to go to you local station and report they will never take it over the phone.Where ever you go you will have to go to a police station to report it this is not just a toronto thing. And now he can not sue as he did not get a number.

It is aslo to maike sure its real. When you go down to the station you talk to the cops and then you sign the piece of paper that more or less says yes this is what happened and you want to press charges or if you don't yous till have to sign this paper claiming so.Yes it may seem cold but this is how it is done.

you called the cops on me?
damn rollerblader
j/k
yeah cops wont do anything about that, a taxi cab hit my friend just lightly with his mirror but drove off (despite the fact that we were chasing him and waiving for him to stop) cops still made us go to the station. Cops would be real busy if they were hunting down every aggressive driver

Ah, good ole Rollerblading!! I love it so much!! I recently lubed up my bearings and rotated my wheels! Hah, but enough about me!
Guy, are you wearing any type of reflective tape and/or a solid or blinking red light?? If not you should really considering grabbing a light and some tape. Really cheap and it can help other people see you better. Lights and tape can be found at pretty much ANY bike store. If you are buying a light try to find one that can be attached to clothing or a backpack.
Rollerblading can be extremely dangerous!! You cannot stop as fast as, say a bike or even car. You could always try to dodge, but what if you dodge into something worse than what you were actually trying to dodge? I have had my close encounters with crazy drivers and all. I'll be blading along Bloor Street towards Spadina and on the ROAD and some people in their cars just open doors outta nowhere or the cars driving on the road sometimes swerve to where I'm blading. I try to be as careful as I can but like I said, Rollerblading is dangerous especially if you do it on the road. I fully know this, but I do enjoy taking risks. That's just me._______________
