Most of the reviewers seemed to like it and the biggest complaint was the battery life.
For those who are in NW Calgary, The Source @ Northland Mall still got one when I left the store at 2pm today. Give them a call to check stock before heading out. Pretty good deal! Thanks, Whitefinger!

The nice thing about the Libre is that it doesn't have a clock/date. This means that when you borrow books from the public library, they don't expire as long as you don't hook your Libre to your computer. You can take as long as you want to read the book because it doesn't know the date.

I went to talk to one of the librarians today and she told me that the file would automatically become unreadable after 21 days. I can usually finish a book in less than 21 days but I've got to test out this cool loophole.

Funny, picked up one of these today for the wife before I even saw this post. Bought a previous white one new a few years ago when they first came out. Nothing wrong with it other than the battery life and the current one doesnt seem to keep a charge anymore.

I am still trying to figure out this battery life issue. One of the reviews said she managed to save power by doing a "hard off" - using a paper clip on the reset button to turn it off completely. But of course it would take a long time to boot up again. I did notice if I simply hit the off button, the unit went into something like a standby mode, it came back immediately if I hit the on/off button again. The unit must somehow continue to consume power unless you reset it.

It's not e-ink is this one? I know aluratek had a bunch of ereaders without e-ink (and without the battery life of an e-ink ebook reader).

No, not eink (but for those of us who dislike the 'flash' of eink, that's a plus). It is true the battery life isn't as good as an eink reader.
If you are an occasional reader, eink might be better because you should only need to recharge once or twice per month. If you read more frequently like I do, once per week is not that annoying.
