am i the only early bird out there?

who else is an early bird that wants to beat the winter rush? I got many cars to prepare so this weekend started with the misses civic.
got out the winter tires to swap over, then found out she needed rear drum brakes :( so the wash, clay and wax will be done after the brakes are done. Since i got the car on jackstand might as well bleed the brake fluid since it is coming to the 3rd year. Took the opportunity to install the ASR subframe brace that was in the trunk all summer.

what you like? pink or purple?

driver's side done this morning, still got the passenger side for tomorrow.

stock rear subframe is weak so adding the ASR will stiffen it up and allow to add a swaybar if she likes the CTR one i have on my si or go milder with a GSR one.

Cool that you're starting already. You're in Quebec right?

I usually tend to leave it until last minute since Toronto weather is still very milf late in the season. I love my grippy summers too much to switch them out.

yes i got like 5 cars to prep and don't want to be doing it when it gets rainy and cold, plus unforseen repairs or things will always pop up :)

Bought my winter tires this week. That counts as preparation right? :)

Hi,

Cool...another guy who thinks brake calipers, rotors & brake drums should be painted. It kills me to see cars with rusty brake dust covered components behind a nice set of rims. Yeah, you're early, won't have to worry about snow or icy streets until early December.

I painted my drums black but i probably wouldnt do it again because even though i think rusted drums look awful, the paint will crack and chip over time. Mine was prepped realy well and only been 1 yr and its chipping.

if she is happy with all those hello kitty dolls and whatnots in the car, the stickers, pink or purple rims is all that matters.
now after taking her on a spin through some twisty roads now she wants her civic to do the same :(

Hello Kitty fan eh?

Nah, you're not the only one. My winter tires are already on the car heh. Too lazy to put the summer performance tires when I purchased the car  . I've seen other cars with winter tires and steel wheelies.

If you love your wife, buy her a newer car (if situation permits), something newer with side air bags and ESP and a strong passenger cell. Civics from that period are built like tin cans.....
