Ok, This article says that prices will fall below $0.10/ USD per GB by the end of the year. For a 1TB SSD drive, thats ~$137CAD.

The future is now.

The prediction doesn't state how far below US$0.10/GB... (i.e. It's not saying 'fall to')
The lower the better...I'll finally be able to afford 10TB of RAIDed SSD storage.

That's just it, I mean isn't that the case with just about all technology anyways? You could wait until the end of the year, and some new tech will be out and say the exact same thing about that, effectively never buying anything just eternally waiting for prices to drop.

Obviously, quality is a factor as well, I picked up one of these ADATA drives for $130 for a friggen TB. Thing will probably last years, will go way faster than any mechanical drive and as it's just for stashing games anyways, even if it goes for a shit, worst case scenario buy another and redownload the games...

Those cheap SSD would be most likely QLC drives. This one is a 3D TLC drive. Companies are all switching to use QLC for 'consumer' level drives. So TLC drive probably won't drop as much.

You're probably right. I'm going to wait for another 2-3 months...keeping an eye on the prices along the way..

Lately, I've been looking at SSD prices not only by the storage size, but also in combination with the rated TBW and sometimes speed as well.

e.g. 860 QVO SATA3@1TB@360TB-TBW for $150, vs SATA3@MX500 1TB@360TB-TBW for $164

Looking at it almost at the point of "How much TBW can I buy with CAD100?"
