Might be a dumb question, but their FAQs don't really answer it....I'm trying to figure out what the point of Amazon Cash is as a program - Is it basically for people who don't have access to credit cards to load up a balance onto their account?
Minors that don't have credit cards but Amazon still wants them to be able to spend their birthday cash with them. Also nice for people that are privacy conscious and don't want a credit card company having a record of all their purchases.

Thanks OP. Attendant at my local Canada Post hadn't done it before but had at least heard of Amazon Cash. Took a few tries to get the scanner to read the barcode but it did eventually. Instructions popped up on her screen and away we went. Got the credit message pretty much instantly.

Same. I didn't bother to follow up on the missing $10 bonus for the $50. I just got an email with an apology and says a total of $15 will be deposited. Doesn't show on balance, but as per email, it is applied on next purchase (as Courtesy Credit)

The shoppers at the Ottawa merivale mall location flat our refused to scan my barcode because they've never heard of amazon cash. I requested to talk to their manager, explained what amazon cash was with the promo page in front of them and they still refused to scan... Guess I'll have to drive to another location.
Do you mean the Canada Post outlet within the Shoppers? Or just the regular Shoppers checkout? If the latter, then I think that makes sense - it has to be at the Canada Post outlet.

I went to the Kanata North Canada Post outlet (inside Rexall) and they did it lickety-split - woohoo free $25!

It's my 1st time using it but I thought I could have reloaded with credit card. The CP lady at the dt Montréal location says there is one or two people that reloads there from time to time.

Saw a good deal on an xbox wireless controller on warehouse deals this morning. Zipped up the road to Canada Post, deposited my $100, got the credit instantly, came home, bought the controller - easy peasy.

Just did this at a Shopper's Canada Post. The first clerk tried scanning the barcode a few times and nothing came up on the computer. She called a manager who then tried on the other computer, which she called the "main" one and it came up instantly. Got an email that the balance was added to my account almost instantly and got the $25 credit a minute later. Pretty easy.

Haven't seen that in a long time in Canada. I think they still do it in the USA though.
They also took away 20% everyday discount for amazonbasics items for prime members (but it comes back during big sales like prime day or black friday)

Just went to Canada Post to add a $100 and I only had a credit card on me and they said it's only cash or debit for Amazon cash. Is that correct?
