Just went to Canada Post to add a $100 and I only had a credit card on me and they said it's only cash or debit for Amazon cash. Is that correct?
Based on my understanding that is the case.. Amazon Cash is an alternative to using a credit card on the Amazon website...

Haven't seen that in a long time in Canada. I think they still do it in the USA though.
They also took away 20% everyday discount for amazonbasics items for prime members (but it comes back during big sales like prime day or black friday)
yep, 2 years ago as i said, hope they bring it back for prime week.

I believe that's what the "Cash" in "Amazon Cash" is referring to. :P

I think the idea is, it gives you a way to buy things from Amazon with cash, without having to use PayPal or a prepaid credit card, or something like that.

Saw a good deal on an xbox wireless controller on warehouse deals this morning. Zipped up the road to Canada Post, deposited my $100, got the credit instantly, came home, bought the controller - easy peasy.
Check your transaction details.
Amazon treats their Warehouse deals as a separate entity.
Amazon Warehouse sold items didn't used to qualify as a "sold & shipped by Amazon" seller, so you most likely didn't use up that $25 credit when buying that open-box XBox controller.
Things may have changed recently, but I doubt it.

The $25 credit expires @ 11:59pm on Aug 31st.

Looks like everything went through fine for me, but appreciate the well intended heads up - thanks!

Thanks OP. I went to my CP to add $100 into my account and got lip service:

Me: Hi, I would like to add $100 into my Amazon Cash account (show barcode)
Rep: Are you a bank?
Me: No. CP participates with Amazon Cash. Are you familiar with Amazon Cash? *Point at Amazon logo above barcode.*
Rep: *Silence for the remainder of the transaction*
Don't hate the shopper, hate the sale.

Hey, that's great!
Nice to see that they're now allowing for promo credits to be used on Warehouse Deals items as well.
Their customer service reps used to state that the AWD section is a separate entity, and doesn't qualify for promo credit redemption.
In the past, they wouldn't apply any bonus credits, but it's been about a year or so since I'd last tried.

Added $100 cash to my account at a McEwen gas station, had a confirmation email when I got home. I'm a Prime member.

Haha, How well Canada Post trains their employees. One outlet had no idea what Flex Delivery was even as I had my elbows on a promotional sheet under the glass counter. One McEwan gas station employee had no idea and got a quick lesson from the other employee.

I assume that Amazon is doing this to attract those with poor credit and no credit card. They also don't have to pay the CC companies their fee, though surely the outlets get something for processing the deposit.
