Bought those SoundBuds on sale a few months ago and they never stayed in my ears. Had to return them. Also $24.99 is not that cheap, I got them for $22.

I was going to get the dash cam for $80 on Amazon Prime Day but decided not to since it uses a battery instead of a capacitor.

Capacitors last longer than batteries and will take far more on/off cycles than batteries.
Batteries are not as 'hardy' in coping with very high or very low temperatures.

I would avoid the dashcam, I initially got it for $80 after tax on a prime day price error, but ended up returning it. As it uses a battery instead of capacitor, it has more issues in extreme temps, and the CSR I contacted/info on amazon said its rated for use in 19F (~ -7C) which is far from what we experience even in the GTA.

Recently bought those earbuds and love them. They're pretty comfortable and stay in my ears well with the large earpieces (they ship with four sizes). Very rare crackle in sound (once every ~half hour while walking, not sure if it's the bluetooth connection or the earbuds themselves).

Great entry-level bluetooth earbuds.

At $80 I probably would have taken the Roav dash cam, even though it's inferior to something like a A119S ...

but at $109, I'd rather pay the difference and get the A119S, better video quality, capacitor = longer life than Roav especially for Canadian winters

Good to know. I was looking at this cam hoping it would drop to the $100 mark but now after your experience, I will look at another cam, maybe the the A119S

Good call. Batteries just don't last in our winter/summers unless you take the camera out with you.

Mine's wired to 12V accessory, so it only turns on when the cars on.

Most dash cams are simple. You hit record, and they record. Press it again, and they stop. It might seem simple, but there is one major disadvantage to this system. You have to remember to turn it on.

The Roav turns itself on. When you start your car, it enters driving mode. It will record the video as long as you continue driving, and turn off otherwise. This prevents it from draining your battery, and you won’t be caught without footage when you forget to turn it on.

But just because you park your car, doesn’t mean that the camera is totally off. It enters a special low power mode called “parking monitor”. While it’s not actively recording footage, it is keeping a watchful eye on your car. When motion is detected, it records. This means that if anyone tampers with your vehicle, you’ll get everything on tape. You won’t kill your car batteries, as there is a built in battery that charges while in motion, and keeps the camera running when the car is off.

I think if that specific feature matters to you then there aren't many, if any, capacitor dash cams that can support that feature. Capacitors don't hold a charge for long if they don't receive any current. So you won't have that feature at all with almost any capacitor based dash cam.

Also, it doesn't say if the battery is draining the car's battery if the car is off. It just says it can work because the dash cam has a built in battery. The last line even says that it won't, unless you are missing some parts of the quote.

Thanks, for the clarification.

Yes, capacitor won't have enough power for the 'parking mode'
The capacitor would have enough power to save the video file after the camera stops receiving power.

Dash cams with 'parking mode' need a battery discharge prevention device or external battery park to prevent draining the car battery completely

Anyone know how the 24v one compares to the 39v anker car charger? I want to know if the price difference is worth it.

I had mine always plugged in and got my car window smashed and it was stolen even though I was at home in a secure parkade.
