Anker stuff will last longer and get to you about a month faster. It's a bit late to order from Aliexpress for Christmas.

Anker tends to make some pretty good quality products, but $12-15 for a single cable is on the pricier end.

There are other "premium" cables that go for cheaper.

Last longer but the technology likely will be replaced in a few years. Flagship devices are using Type-C with more and more devices likely using Type-C next year. If you need the cable by xmas, probably better off buying multi-packs, that way you'll have extra cables. They will likely still last long enough that they won't break until you won't need them anymore.

welp.. I have the anker lightning powerline 3 pack and 2 of the cables have issue. They don't charge when the cable is bent towards a 45+ degree angle. I may have a faulty batch...

Email Anker support, they're pretty good with responses.

Yeah, bought the cables at regular price too from Amazon.
I was hoping for better quality cables but I guess not as good as I thought.

you can hardly compare aliexpress quality to these. The connector doesn't break after 5 uses and lasts significantly longer and is enough of a reasoning for me in itself. I guess it is personal preference.

Check out the monoprice premium charging cable, I bought it for maybe $5. I bought one about 2-3 years back. about 1 month ago the plastic finally gave way and exposed the insides. it still charges. So far it has been the one cord that will charge anything. I have one phone that for some reason is very picky on which cord i put in, but their premium cable works every time. And if it breaks, they have lifetime warranty.
