Found this while trying to find a replacement for my cancelled Asus TUF laptop order from MS store.
For some people maybe thinner and lighter is a better option, this is a decent laptop I think. Not sure if English or bilingual keyboard.

  • 14.1” wide, 0.8” thin and portable footprint with NanoEdge bezel for a stunning 88% screen-to-body ratio
  • 15.6” anti-glare Full HD display with ASUS Splendid software enhancement
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM; 256GB PCIE G3x2 SSD; Windows 10; Ergonomic chiclet backlit keyboard with fingerprint sensor

Bought it for my kid entering HS, thanks OP!

I was looking at Zenbooks (wife has one) the past few months and this checks all the boxes.

I saw this laptop in person and the screen was really bad, the viewing angles were terrible.

Specs and price is great, screen not so good imo.

My assumption is that 15" is currently the standard size for a laptop, thus produced in larger quantities, which leads to lower production costs and/or possibilities of overstock.
14" laptops were once the standard size, but that was many years ago.

15.6" are mass produced so they have economies of scale and higher supply levels.

How does it compare to the Acer that was also at same price during PD?

Better, worst or equal?

So close. Shite battery and screen, or I would have grabbed it.
Whenever someone asks a question that starts with "Why do they..." or "Why don't they...", the answer is always a) money, b) stupidity, or c) both.
