I have the Zenfone 3 64GB and I love it. But don't upgrade to their latest firmware. Heard a bunch of complaints on their asus forum. Still run the August 2016 update and it's working like a charm. Dual SIM is amazin, not sure if this comes with dual SIM too, but if it does, get it.

One thing no one mentions is this phone bottom 3 buttons (Back, Home, Screens) does not light up.. So if you are using your phone in the dark you will just have to guess where those buttons are. Wish Asus wouldnt have cheaped out like that, would have paid an extra $25 if it meant having lights.

Warranty, maybe. Local, not a chance. The shipping time is amazingly fast, 3 weeks.
Unlike LeEco Le Max 2, ZF3 is available locally at Amazon, Staple , CC, NCIX......

Really? It's 3 buttons. Standard locations (unless you use the weird Samsung, they have it inverted). So I prefer no lights and 25$ cheaper.

It's not really a big deal, they are reflective atleast and the buttons use a standard Android layout as mentioned, Back, Home, Recent

Manufacturers that provide good software support is coveted. Then there is Asus pushing out bad updates, causing customers to want no software support. I had a zenfone 2 that worked well until the update to android 6. That basically killed the battery. That is the reason for getting the Le Max 2. Now the tolerance for a bad software build is about 7 days.
Did you factory reset the phone after the update? There seems to be some talk/anecdotal evidence that suggests factory resettinf the phone could improve the battery life after a major update.

No I did not do that. I got the wife a LeEco to replace the zenfone 2 to give my ears a rest. Now that it is a spare phone, I unlocked the bootloader, installed resurrection remix and now the battery life seems to have come back to better than normal.

So what? Keep an open mind which helps keep the wallet less open. My previous purchase was through Oppostyle. $170 for a phone with removable battery, spare battery, high speed car charger, case. Find me something like that at Staples.

It depends on each ones needs.

What you said it's very valid, but then so it's Zenfone 3 as being the best bang for the buck when it comes to dual SIM's and quality (minus their stupid updates that seems to be breaking stuff then not fixing it)

ZF3 wins hands down when you consider delivery and return (if unhappy with the purchase)

So you think you can take a purchase back to ncix and ask for a refund because you don't like is.

I have to agree 100%. The bottom locations are pretty standard. With or without lighting, it's easy to find. Because phones are starting to offer options to swap the left/right buttons, having the light on would cause confusion.

I trust Amazon & Staple would not raise a question. ZF3 is available locally

I recall you boasting about buying those cheap Chinese phones that don't support North American LTE bands. It wasn't a barrier for you before. Whatever.

A couple of things you may not be aware of:
1. Asus happens to be a Chinese (ROC aka Taiwan) phone. But it is geared for Can/US market as ROC is an ally of the US.
2. I trust the Chinese phones you referred to above came from PRC (aka mainland China). And a lot of PRC Chinese phones do not even have Google Play by default
3. Previously I was using the SIM from tbytel which does not provide LTE at all in GTA. So LTE band did not matter
