I refuse to buy anything non-4K these days. I don't want to buy something that will be obsolete when I finally finish my basement and get a new TV.

That's better than GP or iTunes IMO. MA works without a VPN, and it's easy enough to sign-up for. Google Play Canada accounts will connect to it, but some studios are region locked (i.e. Fox and newer Universal Studios movies). Only iTunes US accounts will connect to it.

You can sideload the app onto a FireTV Stick. Not sure if you can install onto a Roku with a Canadian account, but if your have a US Roku account, it'll work.
