Casio A158W-1 $14
This one is made of metal (and always has been). There is some misinformation further down the thread so I decided to clarify it up here.

I have the A158 and the A168. They are both quite small and lightweight but the A158 is tiny. But that's the look of the watch, so that's something for the buyer to be aware of.

The A168W is not on sale ($36.48)

More notably though is that the A158 uses a tiny orange/yellow LED for lighting, while the A168 uses an electroluminescent panel, so it's much more visible. For this reason, I wear the A168 exclusively now. I love both for the "camp"/retro factor.

I love these types of watches. I still have a similarly styled Seiko from the 80s which was my first "grown up" watch.

Interestingly, the F91W is a watch with a bit of a notorious past that could get you noticed by the authorities! http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-13194733

I have had two of the A158W. The first one got the loose and the pin to hold the metal belt is gone after more than 8 years and it's still running sitting on the desk. I bought a replacement at Zellers and no problem on the batteries. I believe it can last at least 10 years or more.

The only weakness of the watch is the backlit feature is almost useless, not bright enough to see the time at night.

Wow, that's pretty pricey for something that only lasts 10 years.

If you just want a cheap watch to wear for sports and recreational activities like running or swimming, or perhaps for travel in places where wearing an expensive watch is not a good idea, these are great.

I bought this one because it reminds me of a similar one I wore in the early 90s which I bought from Consumers Distributing. It was similar to the Seiko G757 ‘Bond watch’ but made by some no-name company (a rebrand of the German Anker Meister G757 clone). This new Casio version is a good 21st century update!
