Just picked up the Samsung Evo 850 250gb yesterday
Was contemplating picking up the mx300 instead, but didn't end up as the 850 is better.

Ended up paying 120 at best buy with price match to newegg.

But at 99$ think the mx300 is the best $100 or less plus you get addition space (think I will keep 850 as I already installed it, and 25 not much for a bit better drive)

It looks like you can PM the 1tb version at BB to save an extra $7 or so.

I guess this is a great deal nowadays,
I remember getting a similar size SSD for cheaper price few years ago.

850 EVO is a little faster, but you'll probably not notice it.

MX300 might last a little longer, but with SSDs nowadays longevity isn't an issue. So again you'll probably not notice the difference as the SSD will out live your PC.

850 EVO has a 5 year or 75TBW warranty while the MX300 has a 3 year warranty. I think the biggest difference comes with honoring the warranty. Too many nightmare stories with Samsung.

Yeah... last year i got the 250GB 850 Evo for $80 before tax last year. PC building is too pricy right now, but $100 is the best price right now. There'll likely be better prices next week, but also much harder to get with limited quantities and everyone buying. I've been eyeing the MX300 for the past month or so and picked up a couple for my next builds.

EDIT: grammar/spelling

It is not even M.2.

Why punish yourself like that? May as well get a regular HDD.
I got Fido and Public Mobile. [removed solicitation] ????

MX300 and 850 EVO are both 3D TLC NAND. so they pretty much have same level of life.

The 1TB at $298 is a good deal if you can get a further price beat.

Can't say enough great things about Crucial MX300 SSD. I've had the 750GB for a while and no problems to report of, always super speedy.
