[Amazon Canada] Gerber Dime Multi-Tool - $15.70

Amazon.ca currently have the Gerber Dime Multi-Tool in red, on sale for $15.70. According to Camelx3, this is the lowest price ever.

This is a sub-compact utility knife, 3" long when folded up, and makes for a solid light duty daily carry. I prefer a Leatherman Skeletool for my daily carry, but some people find that size too large, and the Dime fits their needs, especially at this price point.

It's also available in black for $16.12, green for $22 (not a deal), and $25 for silver (also not a deal).

Ideally you want something like this:

https://www.amazon.ca/Multitool-AQV-Att ... 63DRQM1SVK

this one is similar to the north american army issue. pretty sure you can get the real army use one on ebay but probably quite expensive. i broke two pieces on mine back then when trying to fix something lol. but pretty hard steel overall.

I have my fair share of multitools but I never literally carry them around... People really 'daily carry' these things?

I carry this
https://www.amazon.ca/Victorinox-Swiss- ... Victorinox
Every day.

Fits in a jeans' "5th pocket"
I have the same one... my wife bought it in Europe when she was over there many years ago for me. Always a good tool to carry.

I also sometimes carry a SOG mini micron which I like as well.

The dime is cool in principal because it's soo small, but it seems pretty delicate in some sense. I gave one to my son, but not sure I'd prefer it or a leatherman squirt.

The bottle opener being extended and open all the time, would drive me crazy.

Great price though.

These are great on keychains cuz of their small size, I personally got a Leatherman ps4, and its portability is awesome.

This one is small enough that I have it on a carabiner along with my keys ring. Sometimes I even forget I have it on me.

I purchased the black dime for 15$ around Xmas time with the intention of replacing my 15yo Swiss army classic.
I found the Dime to be bulkier and less practical than the Swiss army classic as a keychain attachment. The knife and scissors on the Swiss Army are exceptionally better than the Dime's.
Only thing I liked about the Dime was the bottle opener... But with plenty of hard surfaces around and a little bit of practice it's easy to learn how to open bottles without a bottle opener.
