[Amazon Canada] HOT AF: Neewer NW600BM Strobe $508.99 all-in!!!

This is a crazy price for a strobe that is already a great value. I bought 3, already own 2!

This is a rebranded Godox AD600BM, supports HSS, truly wireless, amazing battery life, cross-brand compatible, works with many Godox wireless flashes, etc.

Best photography deal I’ve got in ages, $508.99 no tax. Henry’s sell the Godox version for $1000 plus tax.

If you used this for a rave party, you'd have a hard time seeing afterwards.

So this strobe will work if you have a Godox trigger?

No TTL hey?

I have never gotten in to outdoor flash photography. How do you set your speed and aperture? Light meter?

No TTL, this is the manual version. I use TTL in run n gun events, but for off camera flash, I’m all manual. I do have one TTL AD600 but really don’t use the feature (though you can now convert the TTL exposure to manual using the TCM button on the Xpro trigger, if using the TTL version of this strobe, nice starting point).

As for metering, yes you can use a light meter, but if you’re using this outdoors, chances are that you’re in high speed sync and there’s only really a couple (expensive) light meters that support HSS. I expose for my ambient (maybe a stop under) and then add light to fill, usually start at half power and adjust power and distance (and modifier) to taste. It’s easier than you think.

This is a great deal for the professional photographer.

I'm not quite at the stage in my photography where I can justify shelling out this much money for this, but it's definitely tempting. I use Neewer flashes and they are great.

$725 is the usual “cheap” price on amazon. Henry’s is usually around $1000 + tax. Comparable profoto strobes are $2500+ To give some context, this is cheaper than Canon’s 600ex on camera flashes.

Thank you. This does seem like a very hot deal. I'm looking to get into more paid work so I'm extremely tempted.

And OP, thank you for the post, there are many people here interested in pro photography gear.
