Pretty sure you do not need root to kill apps. Advanced task killer doesn't need it.

Thanks for the correction, rooting is the first thing I do anyway :)

now, i have a collection of 4:3 screen tablet - ipad, touchpad, and le pan. The one i like most is touchpad, very simple interface, very useful multitasking. I am new to android, anyone help me explain how to properly close an app. In touchpad, it swipes into card view and swipe to the top, don't know how to do the similar thing in android. ipad multitask view is double click home button.

yeah, this helps highlight how good/better webOS is, but its future is dark. sad.

I don't believe Android supports ad-hoc wifi networks. You will have to hack your Le Pan.

Take a look of this thread on xda forum.

Cool thanks for this link i will try it out and hopefully this will work... I havn't been able to get it to work with some of the other supplicant hacks but this one seems to be specific to this tablet. Thanks.

*Edit*
Now able to detect that ad hoc network. Worked perfectly.

Also I just got the Targus Truss case from staples canada on ebay for $20. I must concur with the other posters, this case fits the le pan perfectly.

since we're explaining things...

what does the "hold" button do?

The hold button locks the screen from auto rotating.

Just an FYI - ended up putting ADW Launcher on this tablet, and it does a great job - also means the home screens rotate with the rest of the apps, too.

The battery life on this thing... stunning! I still can't get over it.

Arghhhh! $230 at Tigerdirect.ca now.

OP updated (again), if Le Pan would send me a free tab, maintaining this thread would make a lot more sense :)

they should, you did fantastic favour for them to promote le pan. btw, since you are the guru on the subject, could you let me know how to tell whether the tablet has 4431 v2 installed, mime just says 4431.

I wouldn't be of much help, mainly because I don't have a unit :)
But from my understanding the only difference is the mirrored camera fix. So if your camera is not mirrored and your firmware shows 4431 then you have v2.

if anyone wants, got a LNIB Le Pan for $200 (which is essentially the sale price after shipping and taxes) Never used or turned on. Please PM.

a lot of people have been asking, I am located in Markham but frequent Toronto. Still asking $200.

when play more, i found my le pan's back is clicking, the sheet metal is very thin, it bends inward when holding in hands, when fingers move out, the back bounces back to position, making the clicking sound, the worst part is around speaker area. The speaker is very poor quality, sounds screaming.
