The manual states that you have to charge the battery for a minimum of 8 hours before using it.

That sucks. I don't feel like waiting... :(

argg, you have to turn it on before you read that manual?
I waited 1 hour, because it was super cold after staying in UPS's truck for 8 hours.

Haha, I read it on the company's website under Support/Documentation (user manual page 3) ;)

Well, just got this Le Pan yesterday and was playing around with it for most of the day. It does everything as stated in its literature.

However, the internet kept dropping out in my WPA network even when the tablet says it's still connected. When I switch it to WEP, there's no problem.

Anyone get this to work stable on a WPA wireless network?

:?:

I have the exact same problem. I can't even connect to a WPA network. WEP is no problem.

Thats the general battery conditioning recommendations, and even if you are going to follow that it doesn't mean you can't turn it on and use it while its getting fully charged.

Bought this bundle this afternoon, and here are some pics:
Targus Bundle: Truss Leather iPad Case with Stand + Screen Protector + Stylus

Leather case inside:

Left corner:

Right corner:

After it closes:

The screen protector is too big. (A total failure for me to try to customize it> :( )

Overall, I think it fits very well; just the right corner seems a bit slippery, not sure why. You'll need to remove the right corner in order to power on/off. I like the stylus a lot (that little pen); even without the screen protector, I feel a lot cleaner, because my finger print won't be all over the screen. :cheesygri

I have to admit that I am having mixed feelings with it. The flash for the most part is very choppy. If I try and view a clip on tsn.ca for example, it is not the greatest to say the least. I've tried a bunch of different browsers and they are all pretty choppy.

The current version of our newest firmware is 4431. You can check your current version by going to Menu->Settings->About tablet-> Build number. Updating the firmware is completely optional and will erase and wipe out everything that is saved in the internal memory of the tablet. It is strongly suggested to back up all files and apps before performing the update.

You will have to download these files:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/sunmks

PDF of Update instructions:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/aiw2x6

1. Download files; after download is complete, unzip all the files and put them directly onto the root of your MicroSD card.
2. Insert the MicroSD card into your Le Pan tablet.
3. Download and follow the following update instructions.

When installing the firmware, the tablet must be turned off. Disconnect it from the usb charger or computer so that nothing is connected to it. Hold down the volume down button ( - ) then the power button ( | ); once the loading screen turns on let go of the power button first ( | ) then the volume down button ( - ). You can plug the charger back in once the installation screen appears.

When firmware update finishes, go to file manager and install the 6 preset apps:
-Adobe Reader
-Adobe Flash
-App Help
-Google Books
-Kindle
-iReader
