[Amazon Canada] LG 27UK850-W 4K UHD IPS Monitor with HDR10 with USB Type-C Connectivity and FreeSync (2018) $602.07

For those looking for a high quality 27" 4K, 3840 x 2160 monitor that supports USB-C connections, this LG model is at a all time low price.

Should work well with Mac Mini's and Macbooks as a external monitor, and apparently good for gaming according to this review:

Not sure why it's being downvoted. I got 2 of these for my Mac Mini at $840 each in October, and they're amazing. I think the price is great.

Because its a common 4k 60fps ips monitor pretending to be a gaming monitor. You can get a monitor with the same panel for less than $300

Good to know. I'm not a gamer so I wouldn't know.

Please let me know which sub $300 monitor with you are referring to, since I still have time to cancel my order from amazon if your recommended monitor is better. Note that I'm not buying this monitor for gaming. It's for my wife to use with her Mac Mini, web browsing, watching videos, photo editing, etc.

In regards to the higher % DCI-P3 gamut monitors, aren't they mostly priced well over $1K? i.e. LG 27MD5KB-B, Dell UP2718Q. Not that I'm going to be doing any high end cinema productions.

is this a better idea? it apparently does 95%

"Features like high dynamic range, 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage and stunningly high peak brightness make the 4K display route ideal for gaming and professional visual design stuff if you really want cutting edge quality."

You can do a search in new egg for the criteria, but $600 should be able to get you a better ips monitor than just plain 4k 60fps.

I would say so. For a single-user, you're not going to care a whole lot about viewing angle.

The 10-bit colour is 8-bit+FRC though...

A 27" 4k monitor for below $300 CAD that has nearly the same, if not, better picture quality and frame rate? Show me please. I've been hunting for a 27" 4k monitor and the lowest I've seen is the Samsung one at Best Buy for $349.99 when it's on a $50 "sale".

Don't know if specs are the same but it's the cheapest 27" 4k monitor that I've seen in awhile (minus the Primecable $199.99 flash sale they had a few weeks back)

seems like what its worth, its 8bit + dithering panel with low gamut.
think first, buy later.

Not worth the money...

Models 500/550/600/650 will give you about the same quality for half price [when on frequent sales - Best Buy or on sale + 3 years Warranty @ NewEgg]
