[Amazon Canada] Microsoft Surface 3 Pro Power Adapter - after market - $7.99

I needed a new power adapter for my surface pro 3 and found this for 8 bucks! The original microsoft brick is $105 and other knock offs are $30+. Even if I get six months out of it I will be happy. Should work for the Pro 4 too.

Thank-you OP.
I ordered 2.
I have replaced my original and expensive replacement. My new replacement is still working well but I'm glad to have 2 backups now at a very reasonable price.

I'm always hesitate buying "cheap" power supplies because I'm worried about leakage/ burning. Please report back your experience later. Thank you!
Lurking on RFD for years. Finally decided to make an account...😂

I went through a couple of these (not this exact one but knockoff chargers) with my surface pro 4, I finally said it's not worth the risk of screwing something up and bought a second hand OEM charger for $70. Charging was inconsistent with the couple I went through, sometimes they'd randomly start charging, and they also had a hard time charging it under load whereas the OEM would at least hold it, if not charge. Too risky IMO.

Will it work with New Surface Pro?
Looking at the specs for the 2017 charger it's 65W and this is 36W. It might charge at a lower rate, but I'll probably avoid it. Just ordered a 2017 SP, so I was hoping it'd work, but I'll err on the side of caution for such a pricey set of kit.

Check with Fakespot.com first? It looks like fakespot gives this item an F.

Thanks, ordered one. Nice to have a spare in my locker, will charge a bit slower but at least I'll have it when I need it.

May not work with the new Pro (or Pro 4v2, if you want to call it that). I tried, and it did NOT work - but continues to work with my SP3.

Didn't for me. YMMV.

This is the key point. There are a ton of these 36W chargers that work great with my SP3, but do not work at all with my 2017 SP. So far I've been stuck with MS chargers, which is a pity since I actually preferred the form factor of the cheap Amazon versions - longer cables and a smaller brick... :-(

I bought one of these a month or so ago. Paid $25 at the time. It has been working great since then, and charges up my pro 3 well. No issues so far. The block gets pretty hot, though.

One thing that other 3rd party chargers do is have that little charging light on ALL the time, even when not plugged in. This one only lights up once connected. For me that's definitely a plus.

I'll likely order one at this price just in case. Thanks, OP!

The Pro 1 uses a different connector, so no.
