[Amazon.ca] Mora Light My Fire Knife $29.99

I was looking into getting a new camping knife and saw this for a great price, also looked at some other retailers like MEC which has it for over $40. The lowest price on camelx3 is $27.99 so it's currently is a bit more than that, but seems to be a great price if you're looking for a knife for camping!

And then you can get the fire starter for cheap too.
stainless steel vs carbon steel
3.75" vs 3.6" blade
built in firesteel

not sure if this is worth 3x more than the Mora craftsline but this is likely a higher range of the Mora line.

I personally purchased this one as it offers two things I need in a compact package, also stainless steel is a bit better for camping IMO.

EDIT: Alternatively you can purchase a ferrocerium rod on ebay and flatten out the top of the blade you linked :)

Great deal OP! Lee Valley sells same for $49.99.

I purchased this Bushcraft Carbon steel a few years ago & love it! First time I ever spent money on a decent knife & I highly recommend Mora knives now. I have batoned, hacked, cut, & used mine to carve -- it holds up phenomenally! Alternatively, there is a Bushcraft Stainless Steel (currently on sale for $64.99) too.

knife noob, can you elaborate the difference?

Well, you're gonna likely want stainless then ;) Basically, stainless is less prone to rust and deterioration where carbon steel you'll need to keep clean and dry.

I would also add that carbon steel knives are a harder steel in general which translates to holding that scandi grind longer than the stainless steel, all other things being equal.

Does anyone know if Lee Valley does price matching?

Knife blade chemistry is a big deal and long drawn out massive debates. Like others have mentioned stainless is softer but less rust prone is bends and flexes. Carbon steal rusts easily but holds an edge much better it can also snap if used improperly.

Link to blade hq for the steel...

Untrue. When you buy from amazon.ca as a seller, it's still $29.99, just doesn't ship until Sept 30.
