[Amazon Canada] MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT $299.97 [DEAD]

All-time low.

Might be worth waiting for the GTX/RTX 2060 though?

I think this is a very good heatsink and fan set up as well?

Good price, we've seen these lows before I believe, but technically is the lowest.

Waiting for an eBay 15% coupon to hit new lows.

I haven't been keeping up, but I bought a 1060 6GB at around that price around 2 years ago, just odd a video card still retaining value but i understand the current market climate

Makes me wish I bought the 1070 at the time instead. But I was afraid of my 2600k @ 4.6ghz "bottlenecking" the video card.

oops, ya the 1070 would pair nicely with a 2600k. Bottle-necking is always exaggerated. You could even go for a 1080ti if you see a good price.

Relax, the current pricing of the 20XX cards ensures customers get hooped right through to Black Friday. If we're lucky, 20XX card prices collapse in time for BF and there's a firesale on 20XX. Not placing bets this point, though.

Great deal , thank you OP.

Not really. It's barely even an upgrade.
Generally speaking, the card before it equals to the card under it from next year.

1050 = 960
1060 = 970
1070 = 980

etc.
It's not always true, and the TI versions kinda mess the order up. Otherwise it's a good rule of thumb.

Btw you can find Gigabyte 1070's used on ebay for about this cost (350 without tax is close to 300 with tax)
Gigabyte cards have a standard 3 year warranty as far as I know. So no problems buying used and worrying about it breaking.

No, it's not. a 970 and 1060 (even the 6gb) are almost equal, they fall somewhere around a 5% difference at best case.

I wouldn't, it all depends though on what kind of bump in fps you're looking for. Sure the 1060 is a bit faster and has more vram but it isn't what I would consider a worthy upgrade at all.
