Just a heads up to everyone that these models tend to suffer from fan burn-out. Mine burned out after about 16 months of very light use, and Nesco's warranty support is pretty limited. Unless you plan on using this A LOT, it's probably not worth the investment.

Yes, but I do not recommend doing that indoors without ventilation. If you have a balcony or garage or backyard do it there. I used to dehydrate some canned tuna to make small tuna noodle meal packs for hiking or biking.

Just at boiling hot water into a small food jar thermos (or in my case thermo coffee mug) and wait about 15-20mins for the noodles (used fettuccine) to rehydrate and cook. Just bike or hike for another 20mins or do something else like shopping then have a nice hot meal.

I thought they went out of business. I've had one for close to 20 years, just used it last week and still works great.
