The Shield runs everything better/faster and has much better support/updates. The Mi box won't do the gaming either.
What kind of games are we talking about?

I have a mibox how does this compare?
It can do similar things, but the shield is vastly vastly more powerful

Thanks a lot OP! This was the main reason I was waiting for Black Friday, but I doubt it would get cheaper than this and I want it now! =) I chose Amazon Prime's free same day shipping, hope I get it today.

I'm excited to try streaming games from Steam, I hope it runs smoothly.

So if you have an XB1 or PS4 with gaming and all the streaming apps like Netflix etc. What would be the benefit of this device? I’m assuming IPTV?

just picked it up..still available...will pair ps3 controller and away I go

Does anyone know if ps3 controller has the same full functionality as shield controller..aka no other configuration that needs to be done

For sure it's more powerful but if there is no application that is using all that power, then why choose it over the Mi?

OK, I'm done HODLing on this,
Finally ordered through ebates.ca (electronics @ 2%).
FYI - Prime is not required -- $202.xx shipped (in ON).

Thanks OP!

I've got to agree with the previous comment now. Use Google and look some stuff up.

Very solid deal OP.

After reading up online and searching on Google, I just can't find a single good use of this device.

Streaming: I got an Apple TV that I tried installing Kodi and then it reset, so I totally gave up on having to reinstall Kodi all the time... I now connect my laptop directly to TV and browse from there.
Gaming: I own PC, PS4, WiiU. I can't seem to understand the need for NVidia Shield.
TV: I got 1080p TV. Can't even use the 4K HDR.
Music? Don't listen.

Anyways bottom line, if you don't think you need this item, you most likely will throw away ~200$ in the water and this device will collect dust.

Edit: I still have items I bought from RFD still packed in Amazon boxes at home that I haven't even opened up, that dates 3-4 years. This one may require to think now before buying IMO.

Well if you’re a gamer, for sure the nVidia Shield will rum certain games better than miBox. As for other applications (IPTV, Netflix, etc) you won’t necessarily get a better image quality, but interface/menu speeds will be better which at least for me is a big plus. I’ve also read reports where Mibox can sometimes struggle with certain 4K content whereas this issue won’t exist on Mibox.
