This one at CT seems to do everything this OXO does. Same 11 pounds, same increments. Its 10 bucks almost every other week at Canadian Tire. I cannot see why you would pay almost 4 times more with tax for something that has virtually the exact identical features...

I almost pulled the trigger until I see this reply. I have looking for a scale to weigh some metal parts. Should I go for the OXO or is the CT $10 one is going to suffice?

This. The amazon.ca scale is ridiculously overpriced. It's not even one that gives you the nutritional breakdown.

This model was very highly rated by americain test kitchen. They really liked the backlight and the pull out display for when measuring large items.

At $80 it is not a good deal and likely way overpriced.

At $33 it is a steal. None if the other scales at this price range had stainless steel and extendable read out.

Thanks op, once again, for this incredible deal. It's probably sold out by now...

Other than the possibility it's not as durable, it is inferior in two ways:

1. It looks bulky. The OXO fits in a drawer nicely.
2. I hate glass
3. the OXO has a pull out display, which I use more than I thought I would.

Ok, that's 3.

I have both scales..they're both good.
The starfrit one works fine but the oxo has some features that I prefer. I make my own dog food and it's pretty smelly..I use the scale to weigh out the portions and the food gets everywhere..the oxo tray snaps off and can be cleaned which is a plus. Also, the oxo display pulls out so that you can read it even with a large pot that would otherwise cover the display on the starfrit. Also, surprisingly, the backlit display has come in handy. For under $35 it's well worth it.

For those who have cleaning troubles... get back to basics... a cleaning solution and a sponge can do magic.
