[Amazon Canada] Power Wheels Dune Racer - $297.99

Amazon currently have their Power Wheels Dune Racer on sale for $297.99. According to Camelx3, this is the lowest price it has been listed, and locally I generally see it for $400-$450. It is the Deal of the Day.

Green

Purple $304.99

Batman

Steel frame is nice, handles 130 lbs total weight. My neighbor has this model for her kids, and she can fit into it as well, which is pretty funny to see. 12v motor, 4 and 8 Km/h speed, which you can lock to the lower speed for younger kids.

Plastic wheels, as all models have at this price range, but you can take a kids bike tire, cut it width wise, and screw it to the plastic wheels to greatly improve speed and off road handling.

According to past redflags posts... it's been $270 (last dec), $279 and the Chrome one was $250 last November.

I've wanted to buy one of these, but after reading reviews, normal sidewalk/concrete just destroys the plastic tires. Some reviews said it doesn't even last a season of normal sidewalk wear. The plastic tires will break apart with holes and you might as well buy a new one (new tires aren't cheap). If I had a massive backyard of grass and hills, I'd buy one for sure.

Also kids bike tire - just be careful, I've read it kills the gear box and voids the warranty. That's why the tires spin by default, when you add extra friction, the life of your gear box is much much shorter. Some have broken their gearbox shortly after adding extra grip.

Thinking these wouldn't work in snow?
Nope, the plastic tires are quite poor in snow.

Got this. Tires have been fine, but it's as wide as the side walk.

Wow, nice comment :)

I bought our kids a Peg Perago Gaucho, and we had a power wheels bigfoot, and a smaller sit on one... Modded the bigfoot and the smaller one. Too much power and it would just pop wheelies or just straight burnouts. Upgraded to one of those Razor electric dirt bikes, but the kids smoked the rear tire right off.

Totally agree with @mugs_64

Kids as young as 3 will enjoy this and learn to drive pretty well. It definitely goes fast enough. The battery lasts for about 2 days of intermittent use. The plastic wheels are not meant for pavement; the more grass, the better.

On sale last Nov 2017 from Walmart for $248 with free delivery. I think Walmart and Amazon were having a price war.
