Rock On!
Please......just some friendly advice from an Old Fart.
Just spend a little extra & get yourself a nice used Mexi Fender Strat or an Epiphone neck-thru Les Paul Std.
These can be bought for $200-$300 used on Craigslist or even a chain store like Long & McQuade.
I recently saw a nice birdseye maple top Epi Les Paul at the Surrey,BC L&M for $250.
These will last you years,or decades to come, and be far easier to setup, repair,as well as play far better.
You may actually wanna stick with the guitar once you have a decent on in your hands.

Man these Epi Les Paul Elites are getting so expensive, selling often over 1k used.

I know they are Japanese made and even better than Gibson Les Paul Studios (part of the reason they're discontinued haha), but over 1k for an used Epi.....I dont know. If they are 750ish I'd be all over them
But I agree, spend a little extra if you are semi-serious about learning to play. However, if you are buying it for a little kid to gauge interest, this cheapo one is not a bad idea, you can always buy a better one in a few months without hurting your wallet too muchLast edited by MikeMC12; Feb 23rd, 2012 at 11:43 AM.

That's a great cheap guitar if you're just learning to play. Plus, with a little experience and creativity, you'll then be able to customize it to your pleasing with new a whammy bar, bridge, pickups, etc. or even practice your custom paint jobs! Very few pro players just use standard gear----no one supplier makes the best package. You usually have to pick and choose parts to your liking anyway. Now, if you're a more experienced player, then definitely invest in something better----your fingers and ears will thank you if you don't plan to tweak anything later on.
