I have one from the same deal, and certainly agree that the newest version is much better.

Do you mean the Ring PRO? If so I believe it’ll be $199 tomorrow at HD (down from $259 or something)

Lot of people (including myself) are holding on the decision until the Nest Doorbell releases in 2018. By the way, what about the August Doorbell ? Do people ignore it because it is too big ? Some people like it as it integrates with the August Lock.

It's $199 USD for BF on Amazon, Best Buy, and Ring.com.... so that would be pretty amazing deal given the exchange rate. Right now HD lists it as a BF price at $249.

There is a Ring V2, as well.

Which one would you recommend getting?

The biggest factor is the width of the pane / door panel you're looking to install it on. Ring and Ring v2 are very thick - just a bit smaller in width than a small external HD; Ring Pro is much slimmer. In my case I can fit the Ring, but it really juts out into the window beside my door... Ring Pro would have looked much nicer, but for the HD deal I wasn't looking to pay more for a better appearance.

Both Ring 2 and Ring Pro have 1080p, compared to the original Ring which is 720p. The motion detection is often criticized for the original Ring as well.

$200US is around $266 Canadian right? Then $250 Canadian price at HD is a good price, no?

Just got a note saying Ring pro dropped price at Amason to $240.

Works out to around $254USD right now, but can fluctuate quickly. I have a no foreign exchange fee card (Chase Marriott), but if you do have an additional exchange fee, it would throw the price up higher. Plus, you'd probably need to pick up in the US and pay state tax.
