Just so I can better understand, is it safe to say that pods will always be more expensive than regular detergent liquid ? I.e. you pay for the convenience of the pods ?

Convenience of not using your arm to pour in the detergent...

some of us have laundry machines in the basement and it is nice not having a big jug of laundry detergent along with all the clothes

Mine are main floor, but I also have a shelf that the detergent sits on.

Weird. Were these actual Tide Pods or some kind of knock-off? Mine work perfectly, even when I use cold water.

I bought it from Costco  already returned one box and keep one box just for trying but it still wont melt :(

Are they Tide pods, or are they the Kirkland ones or a different brand?

I find these kept the scent of the pods on my clothes longer than pouring the detergent and fabric softener. I am about halfway through the pods and on a couple of instances, the pods didn’t melt properly.

I like them but even on sale, I am not sure if I would buy them again.

Maybe you're using them in an over-full load? I had that problem with those tide stain remover packs and with those in wash scent booster pellets, and even borax sometimes. When I put less clothes in, they all melt fine 🤷

Did you follow the instructions? You have to put the pods in first, not on top. Reverse of how regular laundry usually is.

The agitation on of the bottom washer should break up the pod. And to be honest, not sure how great these are with HE front loaders, mine is a HE top loader.

My wife just likes the convenience of pods. Chuck one in and close the door. Plus she says they're cleaner compared to the dripping and splashing of liquid detergent. We've been using them for years now since they came out.

I dunno, works for me. To each their own, no?
