I notice that walmart.ca has two sku's of the C7, one at $69.98 (https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/tp-link-ac ... 0197419572) and the other at $119.98 (https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/tp-link-ac ... 0148205557). Is one v1 and the other v2? I've ordered the cheaper one anyways to see. I thought I read that there aren't a lot of differences between v1 and v2.
Cheap one is "Model # ARCHER C7_RE" - RE is likely REFURBISHED and the price is inline with the NewEgg link above...

I went to BestBuy and price matched the cheaper version, I noticed the two different prices as well. I figured one meant refurbished but took a chance and the lady did the price match! Came out to $65 each router (I bought 2 of them)

Total YMMV but if you have the time and a not so bright sales associate, try and price match the Archer C7 at BB. I showed them this link and the lady looked at it for a second and did the price match. Got to C7's for $148 with tax in BC. If you wait for BB to bump the price back up to $119 you will get an even better deal as I price matched it at the $89.

You might find this useful. Overall, probably not a lot of differences unless you want to flash alternate firmware on on v1:

It takes months before there'll be CA version. I've been using the US firmware for 2 weeks now without any issues.
I also had success flashing the US firmware. Only hiccup was that it wiped out all my settings.

What's the difference with the US firmware? Why would they give different countries different firmwares?

Not sure of the reason, but it clearly states that it's not recommended to use the FW from another country on their download page.

Actually now that I'm testing things, my wifi speeds seem to be in the gutter. From >100mbps to 30mbps on 5GHz on my wife's computer upstairs.

Different countries have slightly different wifi rules.
For example
1) JP has 14 channels on 2.4ghz vs the regular 11 channels
2) US rules lock the power output so it can't be changed, even with 3rd party firmware (via dd-wrt, etc)

Did it become slow after you flashed firmware to US?

Any chance you have a separate wireless access point in the house? After I flashed I noticed my speeds were slow too, but then realized it reset all my settings including the SSID name. So my devices were connecting to the wifi access point upstairs since it still had the open SSID.

Went back into the router settings and switched the SSID back to before and now my speeds are back

The TP-Link is the access point for half of my house, not the main router. Unfortunately that isn't the issue, as I restored all the SSIDs to their usual name and tried accessing different ones on the slow computer. My phone and tablet seem to do fine on speed tests, so it looks like it's just the one machine that's having issues post FW flash. I switched it back to 2.4GHz for now, as those speeds are the same as before.

Actually I'm not even certain it was the US firmware that is causing the problem, since I haven't tested the speed in months. Something else could have changed in the mean time. From the looks of things, flashing back to the CA firmware isn't trivial... Google suggests the C7 doesn't like to downgrade to old FW versions.

I got the PM from BB today as well after showing the Walmart link. Forgot to check version while I was there but was relieved it is v2 when I checked now.

So this C7 is $7 more than the C60 I got last week.ill be refunding.

What is the warranty on the C7? The C60 has 2 years written on the box as a selling point.
