I use their cases for storing my IEMs, laptops, cameras... (i.e. I see Pelican as a rugged case manufacturer...less of a gun case manufacturer. What people put in the cases is a separate matter...though I suppose military usage is a large sector of their business).

e.g. Pro-NRA or not...it's as if people trying to stop buying Kellogg's because pro-firearm people eat cereals for breakfast.

Tech / physical items are not inherently bad...it's the people. e.g. Would you not buy a condo because explosives were used during the building early foundation construction...because explosives were used to make bombs in other parts of the world?

Hell, the case got a WMD label on it...lol:

The 1500 (Pelican 1500 with Foam) is cheaper on Amazon.
The 1510 (Pelican 1510 with Foam) is cheaper on Amazon.
The 1520 (Pelican 1520 with Foam) is cheaper on Amazon.
The 1600 (Pelican 1600 with Foam) is cheaper on Amazon.
The 1650 is cheaper on Amazon....etc

Any other day, productioncase could be a good choice.

I've had a large black one (don't) for over 30 years. It looks like crap from so many labels and stickers, but it is in excellent shape otherwise. Built like tanks, wish they weren't quite so expensive or I'd have a lot more. Anyone know of amy cheaper knock-offs?
Basil: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically -?

Nanuk is another brand...not 'knock-offs' though.

AmazonBasics has some: https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=amazonbasics+ ... nb_sb_noss

But say you get something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01L0LVLLY
At that price point, you might as well go for the real thing...for the way more decent warranty.

Looks like deal is done and cases are back to regular price.
What were those 1510 cases going for yesterday?

The nanuk latching system is not nearly as durable nor easy to open. We run both at work and pelican is much easier to open with gloves on in winter and breaks a lot less then the nanuk. The auto lock system on them is really annoying. I have never seen a pelican case open accidentally and we are pretty rough on them.

I also think pelican cases are thicker plastic but not 100% sure on that one. Unless nanuk are 30% cheaper I would not take them over pelican. Been using these cases for about 10 years and they take a bearing.

The difference between wanting and needing is how you justify it.
