[Amazon Canada] Warm: Google Daydream VR (~$86)

Google Daydream VR headset near lowest ever on CCC:

Not the greatest deal, but this piece of kit doesn't appear to get much cheaper. Thought I would share for those interested!

If you can find any Gen 1's left at your local Bell Corporate stores they are going for $40. I bought mine about 2 months ago in Moncton. They had 2 in stock and myself and another customer bought one when they saw the price.

I live at a distance from my family, getting one of these to share photos of where I am and what I get up to:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Botan ... 24.4475621

Games - although for myself this isn't that relevant.

Some YouTube videos are VR oriented. The rest can be viewed through the VR set, and while its cool, it is no more than a novelty.

3d movies are pretty awesome on these though. I got a cheap $19 (VR box) one and 3d movies are great on them like watching it in a theater. It's good for 3d movies other than that I don't think the games are that good. I don't know how this set compare to the cheap $19 one. I would just get this for the remove. I can start and pause movie with my bluetooth headset using plex.

I heard Galaxy VR / Go has a bigger library than Daydream, plus the trigger on the Oculus controller is better for some games.

Daydream has a lot of the same content though, so decent if you have a compatible phone. Go for V2 which improves the comfort and FOV.

I can't thank you enough for this heads up. Paid $45 + tax at a Vancouver Bell store. The guy looked deep in the back and he said there was one left but somewhat buried in their storeroom. At $45? I can get a taste of VR because my sense is that after an incredible 10 days it will collect dust. People say buy V2, but I say, $45 x 3 is almost the same as buying one V2. I'm one gen. back and I will move up to V2 when those go from $139 to half that. For $45 is makes me think how much of a rip off the V2 asking price really is. Again, thank you so much for posting that tidbit. It's totally valid and really should be a thread unto its own.
