[Amazon Canada] WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB PC SSD $165

Been holding off for a quality 1tb ssd for $150 but deals at that price have been hard to find or went OOS quickly, been looking since November.

Not the lowest price, but not to expensive either.

Seems like there's a stream of these deals. Call me when a 1TB SATA SSD is $135.

That said, it's luke warm.

WD is still relatively new into the SSD market. I suggest sticking to Samsung for performance or Crucial as a cheaper alternative. I'm not saying WD is bad (new WD black ssd is superb on specs), but you are risking your investment testing out new product.

I got a WD Black PCIe 3.0 NVMe 500GB SSD and it’s great 3400 / 2500 MB/s read and write. None of this Samsung TurboWrite where only the first 50GB of the drive writes fast.

Plus it’s WD, they will honour their warranty. It’s not a shady company by any means when you look at their HDD track record.

Seeing that WD owns Sandisk, and that Sandisk has been in the SSD game for awhile now, would WD really be "new" in the SSD market? I don't see WD acquiring Sandisk, and not take advantage of their experience.

Newegg has the same drive (2.5" or M.2) for 164.99$ -15% with promo code and free ground shipping. All in it rounds out to 157.49$ (shipping to Qc).

It looks like it's -$15 not -15%, but thanks for sharing - that's not a bad deal at the moment. Hoping the price drop trend continues.
