So,is this good drive for desktop? I am looking for one because last week two of my hard drive was dead and all my data gone. I am looking for reliable one.

Thanks OP! Bought one through BestBuy and Price matched.
Could you please tell us that your drive is noisy? TIA

if this is usb native interface then answer is no. Data recovery from usb drives is going to be much harder than from sata drives.

Maybe if you PM at Best Buy they won't limit you.
I was thinking about that too, but that's a lot more work than I want to do.

Bought two from Best Buy earlier today for $178+tax each.

It was actually the easiest transaction I made with a price match with them for once. No questions about limit. I was in and out in about 5 mins, mostly waiting on associate to check out the website for price/item and grabbing the manager for approval.

The enclosure encrypts the data so recovery will be very difficult if the enclosure or drive fails.

I mean... if it's a hard drive waving contest I can easily beat that:

Running:
1x 24x1TB = 24TB
2x 24x2TB = 96TB
2x 24x4TB = 192TB

Total operational: 312TB

Near future when I collect enough drives:
1x 24x8TB= 192TB (8 drives on hand, was gonna order another 8 today but ended up getting 1 due to limits and me not wanting to put on pants to visit Best Buy)

That's not counting the dozens of random drives I have lying around including the half dozen 8TB Seagate SMRs that I decided to "scrap" in exchange for these.

Im fairly sure the total amount of porn on the internet far exceeds 312TB. You'll have to get way more drives.
