Are you talking about the $39.99 that was on sale maybe a week ago? Any big, difference between the two? How would I return it back to amazon USA without paying shipping ?
no, the $39.99 is the compact version. i bought this exact version for $49.99USD as it was not available on amazon.CA at the time. not sure how returns go with amazon.COM but i won't bother as it's already installed. can't win them all..

Nah nah nothing like the GoPro idea. It that I'm going back and forth from Thunder Bay in the near future. Be fun to have full recording time for it. But not required. Rather have highest quality in case of something.
Then this dashcam is what its built for and nothing else... there is a button where you can hit on the camera if you want to specifically make a seperate clip of what happened a few sec ago and a few sec after.

But its so easy to connect to the camera and get video from it onto my iphone, i don't even bother. lol.

Very true. And it does a really good job for the price too!

I've got this dash camera paired with a 64gb sandisk high endurance card from amazon. Works like a charm so far in Vancouver weather. AMA if you've got any questions.

BTW, you probably should not add the "Xiaomi" name for Yi cameras, as Yi Technology has officially stopped using "Xiaomi" in their branding.

Yi Technology has always been a totally separate company from Xiaomi. Xiaomi is one of the investors in Yi, and one of the ways to help startup like Yi was to allow them use Xiaomi branding.
Now that Yi is well established in the market, they have since stopped using Xiaomi or Xiaoyi brand in all their newer products including dash cam of this post (they have not changed the name for previous products still in production though).
I dont know why, but I found that both interesting and helpful. Thanks and Thanked!

Can you please confirm that this dash cam does not have a GPS capability. I do not see it mentioned anywhere and that option is a deal breaker for me. Thanks.

Xiaomi Yi Dash Cam vs the 70 min? which one is better?
RFD does not save you money, it makes you buy things you never realized that you needed at a decent price.

Any idea if this one is okay with our canadian winters?
First winter and so far no issues. This thing records very quickly once it receives power. I do remove it from the mount during the summer months when parking for extended periods. Bit of a hassle but I am mindful of the heat impacting the battery.

There's no GPS. It's a 1440p cam with wifi.
