Don't ever say the A-word...cars don't magically crash themselves. Stupid drivers. A car crash is a car crash. 85% of crashes in Canada are due to driver-error and not mechanical failure. One thing you learn from racing drivers, they never say the A-word. An accident would be falling down the stairs.
I don't know why you are so willing to die on this hill. Words get added and or get their meanings changed in society all the time. When it comes to two pieces of metal smashing into each other with flesh inside of them the first thing that doesn't pop into my head is unavoidable. It's just another word for collision. So what? Accident accident accident!!!!!

Hey guys, how does the mount work for this cam? Once you mount it to your windshield, can it be removed to be put in another car?
many ways to mount it, your car layout will depend the most. I find stickers tend to let go in extreme cold (any touch it is brittle and will just drop). In the heat, it could fall off too. I tried 3M stickers too and same.

You can try a suction mount, but they dont like cold either.

Either way, make sure your windshield is VERY clean for the best sticking.

If you find it falls, you could glue it. In which case, get 2. One for each vehicle and just swap the unit.

i have this model i think, i got it from lightinthebox? can't remember how much...prolly 40usd at least 6months ago back in 2017, does dark window tint affect the quality of the vid? i have it mounted at the REAR center (top, i 3m taped it to the roof liner and kinda wedged it in, it hasn't fallen off and i've had it for a week of driving now)near the defroster for a rear cam, i will take pics of it later...it kinda hangs and obstructs the rear view mirror when u drive at times..also the blinking red light is sometimes annoying , i electrical black tape it so it hides better

The large majority of collisions are avoidable and that's no accident.

For people who mount rear cameras, how do you run the wire and where do you plug in for power?

I think I have the same $10 one which was eventually refunded for not being 1080p
i ran mine from the drivers passenger door/roof liner down the seats, then ran it under the mat to the center arm rest and then into the cigarette plug, i have both a front and rear dash cam plugged into same time no issues using a 4 way adapter plug (also using a vent mount wireless charger) , the stock xiaomi Yi wire microusb cable is very long! i think 15 ft?

I can't believe that is still a discussion Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes

some stranger said it perfectly:
There's nothing in the common definition that says that an accident is something "unavoidable". It doesn't even say that it "could not have been avoided". It only says that it was not anticipated, expected or intended to happen. Whether someone could have anticipated it and/or prevented it had he been more careful is another issue. Negligent people cause accidents. That's what keeps lawyers happy.

Thanks OP.

Is anyone experiencing the SD card problem with this one? I've got 2 different cards in it and when trying to format it the cam says something like:"wrong custer size"...

so this has wifi capability. so does that mean we can directly connect with our phones while not near the car to see video?

nay you can't. Just set the dashcam up, you have to be 'there' (in the car or close) and the car is on (so there's power) to connect to the camera's internal wifi, then download the video from the cam.

Then why does the word "accident" even exist? With this logic, every accident (not just car accident) is avoidable.
We don't call plane crashes plane accidents; why for cars?

Actually the word accident is applicable to cars as explained in the Vox article. Automobile manufacturers lobbied hard at the turn of the 1900s to call collisions as accidents as there were a lot of fatalities to lessen the stigma that cars are deadly.
