We don't call plane crashes plane accidents; why for cars?

Actually the word accident is applicable to cars as explained in the Vox article. Automobile manufacturers lobbied hard at the turn of the 1900s to call collisions as accidents as there were a lot of fatalities to lessen the stigma that cars are deadly.
Plane crash fits the definition of accident. So do car crashes.

Actually, they do. Crash and accident are used in general interchangeably. You are trying to be a stickler about something where the general public has one definition that goes against yours. If it is correct or not, is another story. There are plenty of people who call airplane accidents crashes and vice versa. A simple google confirms it. Heck, the Convention on International Civil Aviation even has a definition for a plane accident. Which, is interchangeable with crash.

Does the coupon still work? Would be interested at that price
The coupon comes back from time to time as I missed it a few times, including the dual camera(front and rear). Just search the previous threads here on rfd.

The large majority of collisions are avoidable and that's no accident.

Don't take my word for it... https://www.vox.com/2015/7/20/8995151/c ... t-accident
I'm not taking your word for it. I'm not taking ANYONE'S word on it. When someone says they were in a car accident it's just another way of saying collision. Get over it.

A Place to Stand
Been kicking around these forums for a few years or so now (15), and cannot recall a thread so caught up in the minutia of semantics in quite a while. Who cares!
