I must of hurt your feelings or something. I apologize if I did.
I think I made my point and I don't see the need for meeting face to face, not sure what that would accomplish.
I am "man" enough to realize that I shouldn't waste any more of my time with you.
Mods feel free to remove these posts and apologies to the OP.
I feel it was more of a personal attack than a "discussion". I was curious if you would speak to me in person or over the phone differently than you do behind the safety of the internet. I somewhat appreciate your apology and I am also sorry for my negativity but I am sure you will have some witty remark in response.

Don't worry OP, even if I had split the 5 boxsets into separate shipments, I would still be paying shipping costs which are the rough equivalent to the VAT that they discount (for being outside of the Euro zone). I still saved money compared to buying within North America... but I think next time I'll try breaking down the shipment individually so there's a better chance some of them will get through via Royal Mail (which doesn't incur duties - at least to my experience)
I saw Fast & Furious collection has dropped in price today.. I think I'll order that too...
Cheers!

Having to have the last jab. The true sign of maturity...

I shared my experience with people on here to help them out if they have a similar situation. Sorry I took money from the company you obviously own and that put fault where it wasn't due.
I was just pointing out that that was how the system worked and you got lucky in the past and lucky because Amazon thought you paid delivery charges, rather than duty. You can't blame Amazon for using transportation companies that are better at filing with CBSA than others. Also, you don't save money if CBSA charges you for duty because in local products these costs are priced in. You're getting a VAT discount in the EU because it's for export, but that means that normally you would have to pay HST in Canada. The fact that more often than not you don't means you often get lucky because the CBSA is understaffed. However, Amazon can't base its business decisions on who reports less to the CBSA. Will you be asking Amazon next to mark it as a gift because the duty free limit for that is higher ($60)?

shipping 1-2 weeks more or less
customs no issues typically
duties can happen, but most people are not affected. Try not to order too much in one order. Split your orders
