This new low price is hot for a few reasons. Number one, it's better than ecobee3 lite. Number two, it's just as good as ecobee4. Last but not least, ecobee3 is almost certainly discontinued, so supply is low and this is in stock. Also see homedepot for $220: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.ecob ... 42103.html

If you need a smart thermostat with remote sensors so the base can make decisions based on thermometers and motion sensors in locations other than where you install the box, then this isn't just the best choice, it is the only choice. Buy now before it's too late and you're stuck paying way more money for an ecobee4 with Amazon Alexa voice monitoring that is probably slow and out of date as soon as you buy it.

If you don't need remote sensors, then feel free to just get a Nest, which Wirecutter says is the best standalone smart thermostat.

Best deal for sensors was the time when Ecobee had the buy an Ecobee3/lite get an extra 2-sensor pack free promotion. They tend to run this promotion about twice a year (I remember one time it was during Black Friday 2016). You can buy it and sell the Ecobee at cost and get the extra sensors for free.

Just make sure when you do the return you specify that there's an error/problem with the product/package so that they don't try to deduct a restocking charge to your refund.

Actually the deal during BF 2016 was for the regular Ecobee 3 (with 1 sensor) plus 2 additional sensors for free. Price was $224. Amazing deal at the time.

Yes, that's the one promotion I was referring to. The 2 free sensors promotion applied to both the purchase of an Ecobee3 and Ecobee3 Lite. The Ecobee3 Lite was actually the pretty good buy (if you didn't need more than 2 sensors) because it was $219+20% off=$175.20 with 2 sensors in total (vs. $224 for the Ecobee3 with 4 sensors in total).

Edit: oops, you're right... I'm getting my Ecobee promos mixed up. During BF2016 it was the regular Ecobee3 for $224 with the free extra sensors. I picked up a set and returned the Ecobee3 and kept the extra sensors. Then in early 2017 Lowe's had a similar promo with the free sensor pack plus 20% off which made it similar in price compared to the BF deal. That promo applied to both the E3 and the E3 Lite. I picked up the Ecobee 3 Lite w/ 2 extra sensors for $175 and sold the Ecobee 3 Lite and kept the sensors. I have like 7 sensors throughout the house now because of these free sensor pack promos!

They did the 10 percent price beat for you? Lowe's is such a pos for giving excuses to get out of that.. Lucky you! I think I'm not even gonna bother and just get HD with coupon.

Kenaston. Was there at 9:30 this morning. The cards to take to service are on the end-cap just to the right as you walk in.

Thanks for the info! Do you have the product number, since they the one selling on Amazon does not match with the Manitoba Hydro rebate conditions!

Just wondering, does this qualify for the Enbridge discount?
