Samsung 512GB Micro SD Card UHS-I (U3) Amazon.com US$130

Deal Link:
Price:
~185
Retailer:
Amazon.com
Samsung 512GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSD Evo Select Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME512GA/AM).
Ships and sold from Amazon.com (US site)

$129.99US + $5 shipping = $135 US =~ $185 CAD
Import fee deposit of an additional $18US which essentially covers 13% Canadian tax.
I don't think there should be any additional fees on top of that on delivery.

Just dropped to $260 on Amazon.ca down from $300 a week ago.

Nice addition to your new Galaxy S10.

So, total will be 130+5+18 = 153USD = 205 CAD
Not a bad deal if you need it right now.

Awful deal when you can get a 256gb for 1/4 the price.

Yeah but if you only have 1 micro SD slot and want a large size then it's not terrible.

While you can get a 256GB UHS-I (U3) disk from 3rd party sellers for $66, there is the problem of fakes for some people. The shipped and sold from amazon.ca Samsung card is $106 all in (the Sandisk U3 card is even more), so the 512GB which should have a premium is actually a decent deal at less than double the price.

The 400GB MicroSD is better value for money right now, unless you absolutely need that extra space for 4K show torrents on your phone.

I'm on a 200GB MicroSD on my S8 Plus, and I expect to skip 512gb unless it goes below $100 CAD.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

i'd prefer some 64G and 128G mixed to a 512G , because don'e keep all your eggs in a single basket.

like all media, if you don't need it RIGHT NOW, wait. the prices will go down.

Don't forget after formatting the usable space will drop way down too.

That's what people used to say when 1.3GB harddrive came to the market. (yes, the 90s)

My point: It's not about the size...but rather, it's a matter of "Do you have a backup?"...

The Sandisk Ultra 400GB is only class 10, so roughly 1/4 the write speeds of the Samsung U3 card. Look at the 2nd amazon review which compares the speeds. The Sandisk extreme 400GB which has similar speeds is more than the Samsung 512GB. If you're taking 4K HDR video with your phone you definitely need the extra write speed (or i noticed these videos default to internal memory on my S9+).
